Every Wedding has special touches and moments, and yesterday's was filled with them. Stephanie looked stunning and Jair was full of emotions throughout the day. Why is it that there is always a very early tee time for golf? Is there a way that we can begin... say 9ish or 10ish? This is one of those sports that I would like to conquer... but I think I have to make the time for it in order to accomplish that! Maybe next time.
Until then, I just have tea time while they have their tee time.
Monserrate crowns one of the hills that tower up behind the city of Bogota. It is at an altitude of 10,000 ft. and offers a superb view of the city. At the top, there are two exclusive restaurants, San Isidro and Santa Clara. We enjoyed a warm lunch at Santa Clara. It is a French style house, formerly in the heart of the city, and taken down piece by piece to be reassembled on its present site.
There is also a line of small shops, which sell crafts from different regions of Colombia.
Originally there was a small chapel, with a monastery. The church today is designed as a basilica. It has been a center of pilgrimage and worship since Colonial times.
You may access Monserrate through Funicular and Cablecar, both offer spectacular views!
